Dr. James Beeson joins Vine Veterinary Hospital as its new owner, bringing decades of experience and a deep commitment to patient care. After a successful career as the owner of Village Way Veterinary Hospital in Davie County, North Carolina, Dr. Beeson sold his practice in 2018 and planned to retire. After four years away from practice, he realized he missed the daily purpose of veterinary medicine and decided to return to the profession.
Dr. Beeson offers extensive surgical experience, having performed thousands of procedures over the course of his 33-year career at Village Way Veterinary Hospital. He grew up on a dairy farm in Randolph County and attended UNC–Chapel Hill, where he initially studied journalism and later earned an education degree. After teaching high school English for one year, he returned to school to pursue veterinary medicine. He completed his prerequisite coursework at NC State before earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Tennessee in 1986.
Following graduation, Dr. Beeson moved to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he worked under Dr. Don Robertson at Oldtown Veterinary Hospital. One year later, he opened his own practice in eastern Davie County, now known as Bermuda Run.
Dr. Beeson and his wife, Susan, have three sons: Andrew, Will, and Ben. He shares his home with one dog, Dilly, and three cats, Buttons, Iris, and Ruby. Dr. Beeson looks forward to caring for your pets with the same attention and respect he gives his own.
